Introduction to combat uniforms

Army Combat Uniform(ACU)

The new Army Digital Camouflage General Combat Uniform (ACU) was jointly developed by the US Army and the Army Natick Research Center. The production cost is 88 US dollars per set, and each soldier can distribute 4 sets. 10,000 sets were initially produced and officially distributed in February 2005. The first batch of 85,000 sets of general-purpose combat uniforms was for Army troops. Since August 2005, it has been producing 400,000 sets of general-purpose combat uniforms per month, and plans to eliminate jungle camouflage combat uniforms year by year. In 2008, the U.S. Army has completed the entire army. (Note: After 2010, ACU adopted CryePrecision’s OCP camouflage pattern instead of the original UCP camouflage pattern and has been equipped with the US Army in Afghanistan.)

Fabric texture

The normal version is made of scratch-resistant fabric, which is a blend of 50% cotton and 50% nylon. The flame-retardant version is made of 65% man-made fiber, 25% aramid and 10% nylon blend. The garment can be automatically extinguished after leaving the fire source without melting, falling off, or burning.

Fabric color

The UCP camouflage used in the Army Digital Camouflage General Combat Uniform (ACU) fabric is composed of 3 color systems, including: dark green, green and white/light yellow. Small squares are composed of different sizes and irregular overlapping patterns. The design is mainly for the jungle. , Desert and urban areas and anti-disturbance night vision equipment. Because the research center found in the National Training Center in October 2002 during a four-month combat test that black does not exist in the natural mode of night vision, and the black pattern in the jungle combat uniform is used to separate colors , But the researchers pointed out that the black cannot be hidden in a black background or environment; it is easy to detect as long as there is movement. And the matching of jungle outline patterns is too large. Compared with jungle outline patterns, digital camouflage patterns can effectively blend in more environments.

Military uniform design

Army digital camouflage general combat uniform (ACU) design. The button design of the whole jacket is cancelled and replaced with zippers and Velcro. The jacket is 4-pocket, with diagonal pockets on the left side and two shoulder pockets. The two shoulder pockets make it easy for soldiers to take items during combat. The pocket cover uses hidden velcro, and the sleeves can be adjusted to be wider and narrower. The velcro design, the collar design can be used as a stand-up collar, and a detachable protective pad is added to the elbow. The military rank and name badges are also combined with Velcro, and the back and shoulders are folded to improve the flexibility of the soldiers' movements. In terms of trousers, it is designed with 7 pockets, which are left and right trouser pockets and large spleen pockets. The large spleen pocket is increased with elastic straps and the organ-style and hidden-style Velcro system are adopted, which can enable the individual soldier to dispose of more items, and add a detachable protective pad at the knee position. In addition, a small sundries bag is added to the left calf, and an elastic band is designed in the waistband.

In the second half of 2005, the U.S. military was fully reissued. The fabric was made of cotton. There were 5 numbers (XS, S, M, L, XL), and each number was divided into 6 sub-numbers (XS, S, R, L, XL). , XXL), in order to suit officers and soldiers of different body shapes, to avoid the inconvenience of fighting caused by too large or too small combat uniforms (such as a soldier's height is 183cm, chest circumference is 114cm, waist circumference is 85, then the soldier is suitable for ML code [medium- long code, medium code long version]).

The new version of the 10 version has some minor improvements. The IR recognition block on the upper arm pockets is changed to be exposed, while the 2005 version (or earlier version) is hidden, and the large spleen pockets on both sides of the pants are changed by Velcro For buttons.
